Adult Tennis Leagues

TNT / WNT 

Ten-week coed doubles round-robin tennis league with no set partner. Each week four players will be assigned to a specific court to play three sets, changing partners after each set. Individual scores are tracked to determine the league winner. Players are required to use provided sublist to secure an alternate when they are unable to play. *Membership discounted price is $40; league fees include balls, nonmember fees, and prizes.

Fall Session is currently in progress now through November 20. Winter information is listed below.

Friday Night and Sunday Morning Round-Robin Tennis (3.5-4.0) 

Our round-robin tennis programs are week-to-week tennis matches for coed doubles play for 3.5-4.0 players. Email tennis@cityofmissionviejo.org and select your level (3.5+ or 4.0+) by Thursday at 2 pm of each week to be confirmed for match play. Once four people have been signed up for your level, a confirmation email will be sent out to players to confirm their foursome. Players must supply their own tennis balls. Tennis balls are available onsite for $4 a canister. *Program is free for members.

Singles FLEX League 

A schedule of matches will be prepared at the beginning of the 10-week session. The singles flex matches are played at a mutually agreed upon date and time. Individual match scores will be maintained and playoffs will take place at the end of the session. *Membership discounted price is $60; league fees include balls, guest fees, and prizes. Matches are played at either Felipe Tennis Center or Marguerite Tennis Pavilion.

Youth Tennis Competition & Advanced Programs

Youth Tennis Competition

This program is the next step for junior players who want to compete against other players after participating in clinics and lessons.  Players are guaranteed 4 (5 if time permits) matches with 2 singles and 2(or 3) doubles in a Fast 4 scoring format.  Winners will be given medals and a ticket to participate in the “Tournament of Champions” at end of the year. Worthy to Win

Focused on building a strong technical, tactical and mental base for tennis players, drills are structured around ball striking skills and footwork with mental training principles. The group is designed to give players a regular weekly training situation designed to maintain and develop technical, tactical, physical and mental skills. It’s important to know this group is different. It’s not just about “who’s in the group” but more focused on “what’s being taught” and player development. 

Coach Joey Johnson’s extensive teaching background includes USTA, NCAA, ITF, ATP and WTA levels, setting him apart as a premier coach for junior, collegiate and professional players. With more than 25 years of experience working with high-level athletes as a mental and physical performance coach, Joey’s experience includes positions such as traveling ATP coach, and head division I college coach working with many top world-class professionals.

This league will feature 12U, and 14U co-ed teams. Players must be between the ages of 8 – 18 to participate. Players must know how to keep score, serve and maintain a rally of at least 3-5 shots. Competition will be against teams from other areas in an innovative and fun format. The season is 14 weeks and includes sectional championships. ** additional $30 is paid through USTA. Summer Camp

Jr. Tennis Summer Camp: 

Work on technique and skill development. Small instructor-to-student ratios allow for kids to learn and progress while having fun. Hot lunch is provided daily along with a pre-packaged snack. Students should bring a water bottle and tennis racket to camp.

Court Reservations

You can make a 90-minute court reservation for singles or doubles play through our email reservation system. Members can make reservations one day in advance starting at 7:30 am. On Friday, you can make reservations for Saturday, Sunday, and Monday. The general public can request a same-day reservation for any available courts by phone as well. Please call Marguerite after 2 pm to inquire about next day morning court availability. 

To make a reservation, email Tennis@cityofmissionviejo.org and list your three preferred court times (in order of preference) along with partner names. Please view the court times below for your convenience.

The Felipe Tennis and Recreation Center, and the Marguerite Tennis Pavilion are now taking advanced ball machine reservations requests during select operating hours. To make an advanced non-prime time reservation, email Tennis@cityofmissionviejo.orgTo book a same-day primetime reservation for the ball machine, call the center directly for availability.

Private and Semi-Private Lessons

Private and Semi-Private tennis lessons are available to both members and non-members at an affordable rate, so whether you are just beginning to play the game or looking to advance to a higher level, we have the professionals that can help you meet your goals.

Providing a structured and supportive environment to develop tennis skills, improve physical fitness, and enhance social interactions. Wheelchair Adaptive Tennis Programs
The City of Mission Viejo hosts a free weekly clinic for wheelchair and adaptive tennis players every Saturday.

Ages 6-17 
Adaptive wheelchair youth tennis program for players with disabilities, designed to develop tennis skills in a positive, adaptive environment. A limited supply of sports chairs and loaner racquets are available. For updates and registration information, call 949-859-4348, option 4.

General Guidelines & Rain Policies

Court Check-in

Players must check-in at the front office when they arrive for their reservation. A 15-minute grace period is allowed for late check-in before the reservation is forfeited.

Rain Policy

In the event that it rains, court times cannot be pushed back. The tennis centers may shut down if inclement weather is persistent. Please call before coming to play.

General Guidelines

  • All players must check in at the front desk before entering the courts. 
  • Proper athletic clothing must be worn at all times, including non-marking tennis shoes.
  • All Non-Members need to pay day use fee to use courts. ($10 Residents; $15 Non-Residents)
  • Only members, paid guests, City-permitted instructors, and permitted coaching staff are allowed on the tennis courts. 
  • Players must clean up the court after use (i.e. water bottles/dispensers, tennis ball cans, tennis balls, packaging, etc.)
  • Unruly or disruptive behavior is not permitted and could lead to removal from the facility. 
  • Music is not permitted on the courts.
  • Players may only use the court assigned on the date and time indicated on their reservation.
  • No food or alcoholic beverages are allowed on the courts. (Water only). 
  • No animals allowed on the courts.
  • No applying sunscreen on the courts.
